The Sacrament of Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.

Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213

Parents are required to be registered parishioners and to attend a Baptismal Formation Session prior to scheduling their child's baptism if you haven't already. Monthly classes are held in the Parish Commons at 6:30 pm on the second Wednesday of the month.

Please register for the session by contacting Teddi J. Hunt at the parish office at [email protected] or by calling 843-873-0631 x214. Godparents and grandparents are also welcome.

After completing the session, the Baptism may be scheduled outside of Mass at 11:00 am or 6:30 pm on Saturday or 1:00 pm on Sunday. For more information regarding scheduling a Baptism, please contact Teddi at [email protected] .
