The Adult Choir consists of parishioners whose musical abilities range from the simple carrying of a tune to those with accomplished music-reading and singing skills. The choir is thus an image of the Church itself, in which there are many different gifts which come from and serve the Spirit of God. Though essentially "traditional," they sing a wide range of music from the Renaissance to the 21st Century, including pieces from the "Gospel," "Contemporary," and "World Music" genres. Usually of high-school age and older, choir members continually build their musical and vocal skills, learning from each other in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm (with other seasonal/sectional rehearsals scheduled on an as-needed basis), and sing for Sunday liturgies, Holy Day liturgies, and special programs, generally from September through June. Because of the amount of music the choir must prepare, consistent attendance is necessary and expected.
